Ballroom for Life

"Ballroom for Life", is an explosive mixture of the ten dances - Viennese Waltz, Waltz, Tango, Quickstep, Foxtrot, Cha-Cha, Rumba, Jive, Samba and Paso Doble - presented on stage by seventeen professional ballroom dance couples from Ukraine and Russia in beautifully rich ballroom dresses. The excellent dancing, magnificent choreography, and enchanting lighting, accompanied by familiar and well-loved melodies, will all guarantee an unforgettable evening of beauty, romance and passion. This whole evening show includes wonderful formations and virtuoso solo dances.

The Elizarov Dance Theatre was established in 1999 in Sevastopol, Ukraine, by Mr. Vadim Elizarov, who is the choreographer, and also Director of the company. The history of the Dance Theatre dates back to the Dancing Sport Club Viktoriya, some 30 years ago. This Club became the basis for the Elizarov Dance Theatre. It was the first ballroom-specific dance theatre in the world, and has become widely known - not only in Ukraine but also throughout Europe - as the trademark of Sevastopol. All seventeen couples performing in the show are professional ballroom dancers, including a number of Ukrainian champions, and champions of Russia.

The Elizarov Dance Theatre and its predecessor from the old days have created many different brilliant and unforgettable performances, among them: "Carmen", "The love story", "Elite", "Argentine Tango", "Exhibition", "Notre Dame de Paris", "Pygmalion" and "Fuete". Special performances for children include: "Nutcracker", "Cinderella" and "The New Year's Field of Miracles".

They have performed around Europe and Asia, from the famous Friedrichstadtpalast in Berlin in 1999, and the Cannes Film Festival in 2000, to a two-month tour of China in 2006, and a two-month tour of France and Israel in the spring of 2007 and they debuted in Canada in November 2007.

"Our goal is to encourage and to support people of all ages in their appreciation, learning, and practice of Ballroom Dancing as an elegant form of artistic recreation." said Steven Kiss, president of Celebritas Entertainment, which is organizing and presenting the tour.
